Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead small to large sized projects, including monitoring/managing staff time expenditure

  • Coordinate projects and liaise with clients, consultants and municipalities

  • Review and assess content and quality of drawings to meet our quality control standards

  • Generate architectural drawing packages and Revit models

  • Provide design input on residential projects

  • Mentor and develop co-workers


    Skills and Attributes

  • Certificate/diploma in Architectural Drafting Technology from a recognised Technical College/Institute

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the AIBC as an Architectural Technologist

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of industry experience working on a variety of large and small projects

  • Proven experience with BCBC and VBBL

  • Comprehensive project design experience, from programming to detailing

  • Experience in residential design in both single and multi- family buildings

  • Experience with commercial and commercial interior projects (esp. commercial-retail TIs)

  • Experience with construction methods in wood, steel and concrete

  • Experience coordinating with municipalities and various consultants

  • Strong understanding of envelope and construction assemblies and detailing

  • An aptitude to work with existing structures

  • Strong Revit skills, along with proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Strong aptitude for graphics standards and a desire to create beautiful drawings

  • Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and continue upgrading technical knowledge

  • Strong leadership ability; enjoys collaborating with others on projects

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Passionate appreciation for Architectural designs and drawings

  • Service and client/customer orientated
